Job Summary:
As an Amazon Warehouse Technician specializing in Equipment Operation and Maintenance, you will be at the heart of Amazons fulfillment operations, ensuring that the machinery and equipment used in our warehouses run efficiently and safely. You will work closely with the Operations and Maintenance teams to perform regular maintenance and repairs on automated equipment, conveyor systems, robotics, and other mechanical and electrical systems. In this role, your responsibilities will range from troubleshooting and diagnostics to preventive maintenance and system upgrades. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and reliability, you will play a key role in minimizing downtime and ensuring the seamless flow of goods throughout the warehouse. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance on warehouse equipment, including conveyors, robotic systems, forklifts, and automated machines.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with operations teams to plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
- Conduct inspections and provide detailed reports on equipment conditions and repairs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs when necessary.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Train junior technicians and new employees on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Monitor and manage inventory of parts and supplies required for repairs and maintenance.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and equipment performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience in equipment maintenance, ideally in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with automated systems, robotics, and conveyor belts is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems for tracking and reporting maintenance activities.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, and lifting.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse or industrial maintenance environment.
- Hands-on experience with automated machinery, robotics, and warehouse management systems (WMS) is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position with flexible shifts available (including nights and weekends, depending on warehouse needs).
- Rotational shifts may be required.
